Presenting at Taiwan’s Google For Education

AppsEvents Summit Speaker Badge BlissIn 4 short weeks I present at Taiwan’s Google for Education Conference!  I’ll be bringing my Interactive Gradebook presentation back and putting the finishing touches on a Genius Hour presentation too.  If you or anyone you know lives in Taiwan then be sure to stop by this awesome summit.  Its my 2nd time in Taiwan but first time presenting there and I can’t wait to network with other educators around the world!downloaddownload (1)

There are a ton of other great presentations going on but I’ll leave you with this teaser about Genius Hour.  After hearing about it the last 2 conferences I finally started it with my own class!  I developed an introductory lesson that I shared with my 4th grade team and have had nothing but positive feedback from students and the other teachers.  Genius hour is a chance for students to grasp their learning by the reins and steer it in any direction.  This guided independent study allows them to pick a topic and with teacher guidance they research and eventually present on their findings.  I’ll be doing double duty with Genius Hour by starting an extra-curricular club in March/April too!  My presentation is still in the works and not on the schedule yet but I’m hopeful the guys over at #GIESummit will let me squeeze it in 😉
