My favorite concept that I learned with Professor Steve Katz was the idea of teaching a class through an LMS. Previously I’ve used Edmodo to help my students learn Digital Literacy but its mostly a message board for the class. I never thought I’d be able to use it to give and grade assignments yet he has used Schoology to give every single assignment, grades, other feedback, distribute resources and more. He has successfully redefined the way that I view technology as an asset in the classroom. Its no longer just a tool for disseminating information but can now be a platform for every lesson and assessment. Sure this is easier in a 1:1 setting but I will strive to utilize my LMS to a greater extent. I may not be in a 1:1 school now but that is one of my main criteria for my next job and I might as well start trying to integrate tech now. Going forward I’ll begin with my 1:1 after school club and experiment with expanding tech into every lesson that I can.
This teaching method requires more responsibility on the students but when achieved gives the teacher more time to work with the students who truly need your help!

How has the individual’s perspective on technology in the classroom evolved, and what steps are they taking to integrate technology into every lesson and assessment, particularly in a non-1:1 school setting? regard Telkom University
I am not sure how a non-1:1 setting has evolved but we are using chromebooks to help develop and drive intrinsic motivation in student learning. Students set goals and are able to track and focus on them. This works well for student who are independently motivated.
We work in groups frequently where there might only be one device for 4 students but each student has access to another device if needed.
